Amazon - Stop making it hard to contact the customer through your message system

Many times I want to contact the customer to let them know when I will be going to the post office with their order. I can't because AMZ message system is grayed out. PLEASE STOP and let us contact the customer with an update to their order.

You don't need to contact a buyer that you are going to the carrier to drop off the package. Once you update the tracking they will be notified by Amazon.

Hi @Seller_wM0nLLkM8WJfxConnor here, thanks for your post!

It is possible that the customer in question has opted out of communication from our third party sellers. I know how frustrating this can be for our sellers. I also know how frustrating it is for buyers.

As @Seller_OvL8C4BJWiuS9stated, our system will automatically notify your customers that their order is on the way. If there are any issues, we will e-mail you directly.

Please respond here if you have any further questions.

Thank you,

Connor

Why on Earth would you do that??? The customer saw a time window when the placed the order; they'll see the tracking info when you drop it off.

Unless there is a problem, you should not be contacting the customer. It's abuse such as this that has lead so many buyers to block messages, meaning it's hard to contact them when it's actually important.

Did you ever order something online and got an email saying "we are going to bring your order tomorrow to the post office"? How unprofessional is this?
