understanding Amazon shipping

I am unable to leave house at the moment and I have a few question about the Amazon shipping option on the buy shipping page. At the current time all Amazon paid shipping services have to be set up for pick up. Like all other carriers.

My question is does the seller pay for the shipping fee(label) and a pick up fee?? I started process today after purchasing a label but the template then said a 6.90$ pick up charge. ?? So was that charge on top of the label ? I would consider that double dipping as the service if free with all other carriers. I would use the Amazon option but do not care to pay for all the fees. I feel that the Amazon option may be the only viable one during the coming busy season. One way to not get dinged for delivery delays in transit.

Please help me understand if I just did not read the template correctly.

We haven't been offered pickup/delivery by Amazon Logistics, but if we were -- we wouldn't use them. For our FBM orders they go UPS or USPS. We schedule pickups with each. USPS are free and picked up by our regular carrier. For UPS we pay a weekly fee to be able to request a pickup each day we need it.

Amazon is unpredictable at best. As @Seller_z3XfkorVSmnEY notes, other carries do/might charge for pickup services. The PO does not but UPS and FedEx might vary depending on your volume!

From seeing MANY posts on here about the reliability of having Amazon do the pickups all I can say is RUN..... As fast as you can to some other method. River is correct about not using them as far as I can see.

Not being dinged is a MIGHT not get dinged since they follow their polices so closely (/S) for Amazon Buy Shipping. Search for the dozens of posts from sellers that have been screwed on that!

I understand it is a risk to use Amazon shipping directly. There is a loss risk with whatever company is used for shipping.

I really wanted to know if they are charging shipping(label) charges and pick up charges per package. I think 6.90$ per package pick up is a bit over the top.
