HELP Needed! Our Products Wrongly Restricted (FCC Part 15 B SDoC)

AMAZON CASE ID#14259900261

Brand Seller for over 7+ Years. Out of nowhere, Amazon sent an email that our popular line of IR headphones (transmit using light)- NOT RF were restricted and Amazon wrote the following:

  • "This product has been identified as a radio frequency (RF) device product with invalid Supplier's Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) information in the fcc_radio_frequency_emission_compliance attribute. For instructions on how to submit SDoC to the fcc_radio_frequency_emission_compliance attribute for your listing, please see https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/4SMR4GXQ3PYD8BK?ref=efph_4SMR4GXQ3PYD8BK_cont_51&locale=en_US. Recommended changes to be done: Please update valid FCC/ SDOC to the detail page for further review."

I went to the Amazon Product Detail (FCC Radio section within the Safety & Compliance Section) and everything appears to be filled in correctly. There are only 6 fields. I have called and written Amazon and no one can tell me what specifically needs to be corrected.

I think they want is the optional FCC ID # field filled-in, but that does not apply to our products. Our products were FCC lab tested and emit little RF and is considered FCC Part 15, which means we need an SDoC, but do not need an FCC ID#. Amazon support and Amazon health support - neither understands even what the specific issue is other than to correct the FCC section. The phone support say they understand that it is likely an issue with Amazon, but say they cant help and have to contact the Restriction team that can only be reached by email. I have emailed them, but the replies are generic and aren't clear.

Amazon support has been really disappointing. Our products are fully compliant with all regulations and this could be cleared up in minutes, if I could actually talk to someone that had authority over this issue.

There are only two Amazon FCC fields that is causing the error.

  1. The FCC ID # (enter ID# if you have one). This field is blank as this product doesn't need one. The FCC does not issue an FCC ID#. We manufacture electronics that use only Infrared Light (IR) - NO Radio Frequency (RF). All electronics emit small amounts of RF and our products are FCC Lab Tested. This particular product is considered FCC Part 15 B and is an "unintentional radiator". This means that this product does not need to get an FCC ID#. Our products only need FCC Part 15 B disclosures printed in the manual and to keep our testing reports and our Supplier's Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) on file. We have all of this.
  2. The other field is a drop-down box with 4 options to choose from called Radio Frequency Emission Compliance: Option 1: Product has SDoC with the FCC Rules (this was what we selected), Option 2: Have an FCC ID# (cant select this), Option 3: Incidental Radiator and does not require FCC requirements (we are somewhat like this one, but we are an unintentional radiator), Option 4: Does not emit RF (cant select this).

If anyone could please advise, we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Just be aware once this happens your UPCs are black listed and this will keep reoccurring so best to stay on the case (respond to the same one) and hope someone can fix it. So far, no person has been able to but hopefully you have better luck!
