Amazon TRIPLES weight and dimentions of product I am selling.
How does amazon just change the weight and dimensions of a product I'm selling?
I have a product that has all accurate weight and dimensions. I even got manufacturer specs for proof.
Amazon decided this month that the product now weighs 4x its TRUE weight. It went from .3 lbs to 1.2 lbs
Width changed from 3.62 inches to 11.77 inches
Length changed from 9.17 inches to 15.47 inches
Height changed from 0.94 inches to 6.81 inches
So now the fees have doubled. 20 percent margin has now gone to 1 percent margin.
How does amazon manage to mess this up? Can it be fixed?

Yes, request a cubiscan at the warehouse.

Open up a case and ask seller support to cubiscan your ASIN at the warehouse
Help -> Get help and resources -> FBA Products weights and dimensions

Hello @Seller_F6APSAEyIyRTw,
Michelle at Amazon here. As @Seller_7LrAV0m5llaI7 suggested, you will need to create a case with Seller Support and ask them to do a cubiscan on your product to get the dimensions updated. If you do not have any current inventory in FBA, you will need to send in an item before they can check it.
If you have issues after the FBA team finishes their investigation, please provide me with the case ID so I can look into this further for you.
Regards,
Michelle

@Seller_F6APSAEyIyRTwAmazon periodically performs remeasurements on all items in their warehouses. Unfortunately, it's an automated system that uses cameras to try and determine weights and measurements rather than a human-being and their system is not very accurate. (If you ever get the opportunity to do a warehouse tour, take advantage of it. It completely changed my perspective of what happens and has helped immensely in knowing how to file support cases.)
We perform measurement checks monthly on our products and it's a fairly easy process to request a remeasurement. In the search bar type "Remeasure" The first module that pops up should be what you're looking for. Just follow the prompts to submit a request to have the item remeasured.

You can submit 20 remeasurement requests a month. Make sure to follow up on it though. This action will open a case and when the warehouse finishes the measurement, they'll post their results.
The benefit to using this method is that if Amazon finds that they measured an item incorrectly, they'll reimburse you any fees you paid on the incorrect size.
Hope that helps!

Unfortunately it's normal for Amazon to do these completely outrageous things - and if you don't pay attention, it might even slip by unnoticed and just steal more of your money to give it to Amazon.
The process is to request a remeasurement. Sometimes they will actually remeasure. Other times they will just pretend they remeasured and copy paste the same absurd values.
And YOU'RE ONLY ALLOWED TWO REMEASUREMENTS PER 60 DAYS of the same ASIN, so if you get two ****ed remeasurements, well you're just all out of luck.
The only slightly positive thing I can say is that when you do get the product remeasured back to its correct size, Amazon will reimburse the excess fulfillment fees they charged - usually, although sometimes you may need to prod them about that too.
Good luck!!

Don't worry, happens all the time. Request a re-measurement as others have stated and you'll get reimbursed for the FBA fee on previous sales.

Not surprised at all.
They have ours all wrong also and it's in Amazon's favor because they make more money.
It's sad that this happens a lot.
Once you create a new listing and you put in those dimensions and weights, that's what it should be all the time unless your changing packaging or something.
What's the point of putting in all these numbers for each ASIN if Amazon is going to change them anyway?
Best of luck to you! :)

If it has not already been stated by someone else, at least in the past. If you got the specs corrected, Amazon would reimburse you the difference for any orders that were placed when the incorrect specs were active.

This happens so often we built an internal tool to notify us anytime dimensions change enough to warrant a remeasurement and reimbursement

welcome to amazon, is this the first time amazon has messed up your dimensions? i'd be very surprised unless this is for your first item.
either way thats why you request a cubiscan. easy solution and get reimbursed
