Recent gating for vast number of brands in Canada
Starting on the 26th of July I've noticed that most brands that were not already part of my catalog have now been gated and require permission to sell. I have also noticed certain products that had already been added to my inventory but had not been sent to the FC yet have been gated as well, I was able to list these products without additional approval prior to this date however am now unable to sell them due to being gated.
These products are not part of categories that have been gated for my account since other products of the same category can still be listed using my account, it is the brands themselves that are being restricted.
I have heard similar things from a few other sellers as well but no indication or communication from Amazon in any capacity, is this a bug or can we expect more or less every brand no matter the size to be gated from this point going forward?

Hello @Seller_fc9H78jr3A2RR,
Thanks for posting to the Forums. Amazon requires approval to sell in many categories, brands, and products and in some instances restrictions and policies change. While you may have been approved in the past, as the Amazon catalog grows, we continuously make new determinations on which products should be restricted, which is based on a number of factors. Amazon does this to ensure authenticity and customer satisfaction.
For this reason, you may be required to gain approval to sell certain products. In most situations, a direct invoice from the manufacturer is required.
A letter of authorisation (LOA) can be a valuable addition to your appeal in these situations if you’re sourcing directly from the brand or their manufacturer.
You will find more details about this using the resources below:
