Engage with Amazon: What do you want to learn about Brand Registry?

Hi sellers! If you haven’t already seen, in December, we have shared content highlights of 2023 for Brand Registry.
For this Engage with Amazon, we wanted to ask you, what Brand Registry related topics or questions would you like us to feature in 2024?
To highlight just a few, here’s a recap of some of the Brand Registry posts we made 2023:
Do you own a brand? Enroll it in Brand Registry!
Many sellers were asking general Brand Registry related questions on how to enroll. In this post we made sure to highlight the benefits and how sellers can enroll into Brand Registry.
Amazon Brand Registry frequently used terms
The Community Managers noticed that through assisting many sellers, there would be misuse of a specific term frequently used with Brand Registry. We highlighted and defined some Brand Registry's most commonly used terms.
How to Report a Violation through Amazon Brand Registry
Many sellers that have enrolled in Brand Registry did not know how to utilize the Report a Violation tool, or misuse it leading to sellers having the tool revoked. In this post we mentioned what each infringement means and how to properly report against infringement.
How to respond to an Intellectual Property violation
Since we covered how to report a violation, we heard from sellers that they want to know how to properly respond to one if they receive a IP claim. In this post we mentioned the proper steps, what to attach and common pitfalls sellers run into while responding.
Brand Registry requirements for permanently affixed brand name - Explained
There were many discussions on forums related to not having the brand approved due to requirements around brand names being permanently affixed to the product or packaging. In this post we made sure to include tips and common pitfalls sellers run into during this process.
In addition, we have also completed two Ask Amazon events and one Engage with Amazon event in 2023 where sellers could ask questions about enrollment or report a violation and get answers directly from the brand team or community managers. You can take a look at those past events right here:
- Ask Amazon: Brand Registry Enrollment
- Engage with Amazon: Brand Registry Enrollment Part 2
- Ask Amazon: Report a Violation
Now, here’s what we’d like to hear from you... in the replies of this thread, please let us know what you would like to see more of or what you would like to learn in 2024 that will help your selling journey with Brand Registry!
Looking forward to seeing your answers and connecting with you further in 2024!

Thanks for the post! I'd like to see more around what type of documents are accepted. Also, what information can be redacted for privacy and what type must be revealed on the documents. I'm afraid of the submission process because there are so many sellers who have had issues.

They make it sounds like you are helping yourself by replying to this post, but realize that you are actually helping Amazon.

What will Amazon do in 2024 to protect brand owners from listing hijackers? Frequently sellers who are not brand owners are able to change titles, brand, product descriptions, bullet points, etc. to incorrect information. We, as the brand owner, then have to take out a case to beg and plead with Amazon to make the corrections. Many times we get push back from Amazon about making the corrections. Why is the brand owner not protected? Why are non-brand owners allowed to make these changes to easily?

Absolutely nothing. But I'd love to learn why it takes over 40 days to review an A-Z claim.

I would like to see brand registry allowing brand owners control over their brand. Particularly putting to use the selling rights feature we were told about but never given access to, and stop allowing people to drop ship our products.
This one simple fix that is part of the brand registry promise eliminates 99% of the issues we have with fraud, counterfeit, drop-shippers, hostile takeovers, and so much more! We shouldn't have to pay our lawyers to send a letter to Amazon for each brand for Amazon to follow its own policies. Especially when they spend so much time and resources on something that can be simply resolved.

When we identify someone violating our intellectual property rights through Amazon brand registry, why does Amazon give the violator our complaint including my legal name (or that of my legal representative) and company name, but never tells us who this person is or their legal contact address?
If we get any response at all, it's some jerk using an anonymous gmail address and fake name pleading that they didn't know and demanding we withdraw the complaint. The information advantage is lopsided in favor of the black hats and cheaters, and, of course, Amazon.
We want to shut these people down permanently and stop them ripping us off on Amazon and every other marketplace and country. In certain cases they may need to pay compensation or license our IP. For that we need real names and legal contact information so our lawyer can follow up.

Why have you flagged our Brand Registry account as "Abusive" for the last 3 years without a shred of evidence? The leadership team at Seller Central has written Brand Registry 3 times explaining your error and our account's 100% health rating The leadership team is as frustrated as we are about the lack of communication from Brand Registry. Please explain why Brand Registry has ignored over 100 cases in the last 36 months attempting to resolve this issue.

I have been trying to register for brand registry for over 12 months but I keep getting rejected as they say my account is abusive. I have 100% health score and would like to know how I can go about finding out why my account has been abusive and how to correct it so I can continue to grow my business. Thank you

I'd like to know when Amazon is going to take action against brand registry sellers who use their privileges to highjack listings. Right now there isn't even a good way to report violations.
