FBA shipment not showing received, but item still sold

This is my first FBA shipment to Amazon, so I admit I'm totally green here. The order status is still showing "delivered", which I understand (it can take some time on the warehouse end). I'm just a bit confused on how an item of mine can be sold in that time, when it's still not showing as being received into inventory by Amazon. Is this a normal thing, that the shipment status doesn't necessarily update before the inventory goes in?

Yes this is normal.. Once Amazon detects your inventory is enroute, they will make your listing available for sale... it'll just show a longer delivery time and won't be Prime until your inventory is fully received.

You have "in stock head start" turned on. This makes your items available for sale a couple days before it is scheduled to be checked in.

Then customers purchase your items as a presale, so when they get received, they can go right back out again.

Thats a good thing... Amazon is treating you like a trusted partner and giving you a change to sell before they receive your products..that speaks volume... If your item get sold that simply means that they will wait until they get your shipment and then they will ship the product to your customers. They are simply giving a push to your bsuiness. Dont worry you will do good.

It's a good thing but also, if the order doesn't check-in and receive in quick order, you'll find a lot of customers will cancel the order because the shipment isn't going out in a timely manner.
