Cold Outside? Heat Up Your Inventory and Improve IPI

5 weeks 'til Christmas! Inventory should be stocked and shipped. Here's how to read resulting IPI metrics and find opportunities for fine-tuning.

Your IPI score considers both your recent and long-term inventory performance to protect your score from short-term fluctuations and disruptions in business (and life). The Inventory Performance dashboard displays a performance bar for each of the four categories of recommendations to help improve your IPI score:

  1. Avoiding excess and aged inventory
  2. Improving your 90 day rolling sell-through
  3. Fixing listings that are stranded
  4. Keeping popular items in stock

Track your Excess inventory percentage, which is the percentage of your FBA inventory units that exceed 90 days of supply based on the forecasted demand.

Maintain the right balance of inventory with your FBA sell-through rate, which is your units shipped over the past 90 days divided by the average number of units on hand in our fulfillment centers during that time period.

Your stranded inventory percentage is the percentage of your FBA inventory units that are currently not available for purchase on Amazon due to a listing issue resulting in lost sales and storage costs. Click Fix listings to go to the Fix stranded inventory page to see how many SKUs have units in a fulfillment center but do not have an active offer.

Use the FBA in-stock rate, which is the percent of time your replenishable FBA ASINs have been in stock during the last 30 days, weighted by the number of units sold for each SKU in the last 60 days, to maintain stock of popular inventory.
