Help - Trying to merge duplicate product listings into New Variation Listing
Hello,
I am tasked with cleaning up some Amazon listings that are a bit of a mess.
*Note we have registered both brands and currently I am a registered agent for both brands.
Here is the current situation.
-The current listings have 2 different manufacturers as at the time sellers created them, there were two manufacturers and were not brand registered.
-The listings are single listings with no variations (color and size).
-There are multiple listings for the same items (same color and size) but with different manufacturers.
-There are multiple listings with incorrect sizes that need to be removed. I will call them multi-packs.
What we need to accomplish
-Merge all listings into new proper variation listings.
-Remove/merge (multi-packs) any unneeded listings if possible.
-Have all listings under only one brand and manufacturer as there is only one brand/manufacturer now.
Where to Start?
-Do we clean up the duplicates first? I tried to merge some but was denied due to the different manufacturer names. I tried changing the manufacturer for some listings and received an error that is didn't match the ASIN listing.
-Go right into the new variation listing and try to merge the current listings into here. How would we deal with the duplicate listings and the multi-packs that need to go away? Maybe add those initially into the new variation listings and then delete those variations later?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello @Seller_QqDVZq2DoY9wC- and thank you for looking to the seller forums for some guidance on managing these listings.
At the highest level, I would recommend starting a case with support detailing the specific ASINs impacted and desired state here. Feel free to share that case ID with me here in the thread so I can take a closer look.
You can use this pathway to merge duplicate product pages, though it sounds like that wouldn't work for this situation due to the multiple manufacturers.
I'd also recommend watching this video specific to managing variation relationships through inventory files, so you can complete most of the needed actions in bulk. You might also find value in reading through this page on deleting SKUs through the inventory loader.
This should help get you started, but do let me know that case ID when possible so I can take a closer look at the variations in question!
Thanks,
Danny
