Delayed Check In Times YEG2
Curious as to why there is always a delay in having my items received into YEG2? Shipment has been delivered on Oct 31st and checked in on Nov 2nd. Since then there has been no update on the status.
For comparison, I shipped out items to YYZ4 (Brampton, ON) on November 11th and had it checked in and was received by the 13th. It was the same type of products that i usually sell.
My questions is, how do I change my shipments to ensure the algorithm recommends my items shipped to a FBA Warehouse somewhere in Ontario? Is there any tips users have?

Hello @Seller_sSdpuBcOX7Sui,
Thank you for sharing your experience and questions about FBA receiving times at different fulfillment centers. It's understandable that you're seeking ways to optimize your inventory management. I see @Seller_w2GUa6JGetF4n has the same questions, so I will provide the details for you both below.
Regarding the delay at YEG2 compared to YYZ4:
- Receiving times can vary between fulfillment centers due to factors like current workload, staffing levels, and regional differences.
- While it's frustrating to see such discrepancies, it's important to note that Amazon's stated receiving window is typically 3-7 business days, though it can sometimes take longer.
As for directing your shipments to specific warehouses:
- Unfortunately, sellers cannot directly choose which fulfillment center their inventory goes to. Amazon's algorithm determines this based on various factors including product type, anticipated demand, and current inventory levels across the network.
- There isn't a way to ensure your items are sent to Ontario warehouses specifically. The system is designed to optimize for customer delivery times across the country.
However, here are some tips that might help improve your overall FBA experience:
- Ensure your packaging and labeling meet all of Amazon's requirements to avoid delays in receiving.
- Consider using the Amazon Partnered Carrier Program if available, as this can sometimes lead to faster processing.
- Plan your inventory replenishment well in advance to account for potential delays.
- Regularly check your Inventory Performance Index (IPI) and work on improving it, as higher IPI scores can sometimes lead to more favorable inventory placements.
- Keep an eye on any announcements from Amazon about changes or improvements to specific fulfillment centers.
For other sellers: Have you noticed significant differences in receiving times between various Canadian fulfillment centers? Do you have any strategies for managing these variances?
