Amazon FBA constantly losing boxes
Hey, everybody makes mistakes. I'm the first to admit that and I've made a few.
BUT Amazon is driving me crazy lately with their reconciliation of lost units. First I ship from out of country so can't use UPS as a partner carrier.
Amazon will never admit they were wrong. But the least they could do is actually prove they are right. In every case I can prove to Amazon FBA that:
- UPS dropped off the boxes I sent
- Amazon signed for the boxes and UPS has the signature
- Everything should be perfect
- but FBA somehow is short a box when they receive the products
I can prove they received all the products with tracking. Based on the weight UPS shipped and what Amazon signed for.
But Amazon FBA just says. NOPE: we counted them and you were short. Ugh.
It just logically can't be unless one of the boxes I sent contained 20 lbs of rocks or something. Or a UPS employee or Amazon employee just stole the boxes.
This is the third time in the past month this has happened to me. I'm out thousands of dollars because UPS can prove they dropped it off, so UPS is good, they aren't paying.
As usual with Amazon I just have to grin and bear it. Amazon's complete lack of respect for their "partners" is astonishing some times. I know they are the only game in town but really we can only take so much. I spend more time fighting with Amazon than actually building my business these days.
Is anyone else seeing these FBA issues?

Hi @Seller_z2EMuTXiRA4y5,
Dominic from Amazon here, happy to try to help with this. This post provides a thorough overview of what to do if you have a lost or delayed FBA Shipment.
Can you please provide me with a few case id's so I can review on my side?
Best,
Dominic

We have the same problem. The "counted and confirmed" is not accurate.
View your inventory ledger of that SKU. I have found that for the shipment ID from the missing units are received at the fulfillment center I shipped them to. Then the units are transferred to another fulfillment center and are then "lost" and they say "counted and confirmed" you are missing 100 units. I have to open cases for 'lost in transfer' inventory every time and show screenshots that they were received and lost once transferred. It should be automatically reimbursed instead of 'counted and confirmed'. 90% of my missing inventory is lost in transfer. They document it in the ledger, but say I never sent it. Its wild. Where does all this lost inventory go? Is it just taking up space in warehouses? It's rare it's found.

It should be as easy as it is for customers who claim did not receive as we are buying Amazons FBA service.

Been happening to me and my shipments lately, too!
My solution: No more shipping to FBA :)

Stop Using Amazon !!! We have had those same issues many times. So have many other Sellers. Losing products that are UPS trackable and miss counting the ones they did receive. Everything has bar codes. They (scAMAZON) lost over $1500 worth of my inventory over a 2 month period. When you make a claim, They reimburse you pennies on the dollar, even when I send factory's invoice & phone number to verify the cost. You can bet when they do find it (with bar codes) scAMAZON will list it cheaper to force other sellers out.
There are lots of other legit selling places. We use the BAY and Pshmark. Never have any problems.
The only reason I'm here is to warn Sellers about scAMAZON !!!

I just opened a CASE:
The content is:
"The Amazon Inventory Quantity does not match the count, after manual counting and also after automatic counting by the Amazon backend, the SKU sold in quantity of 654 units. I've sent 990 pieces in total for all shipments so far, so the remaining Amazon stock should be approx: 336 pieces.
But now the available + reserved is only 172 , missing about 164 pieces, please help me to investigate seriously."

Reading all these posts regarding lost Amazon FBA boxes definitely has us concerned to the point we are dramatically limiting the number of items we are sending FBA.

FBA either delayed or lost probably 1/3 of my shipments from Sept to Dec. However, things have improved for me in the last 2-3 weeks. Most issues were caused by DAL2 warehouse. Significantly less issues now.

Well, same thing happened to me too. I provided every proof, every detail as Amazon requested, but... It's like they just can easily denying that they received the items. I gave in and it was frustrating.
I hope Amazon can take this kind of issues more seriously. There must be a better way to improve the situation.
