Dealing with products with expiration date

Hi guys!

First time dealing with a product having an expiration date. How do you deal with that? Simply using a different SKU for all the ones with the same expiration dates and creating a removal order if the expiration date is coming soon to avoid selling those ones?

Thanks for your input, any advice will be appreciated.

Ive seen people use different SKUs every time they have a new Lot Number. This helps them with keeping track of expiration dates.

I have never had a need to be prefect with expiration dates but if you are selling items in the grocery category, your expiration date window might be tight. I would recommend the new SKU every time you have a new lot number. Its annoying work but it helps.

Good morning @Seller_y3stMX41o2Fey,

My colleague @TaylorR_Amazon wrote a fantastic article on this topic just a few weeks ago. You can view that thread here. It covers everything from listing, packaging and prep, and labeling for products with expiration dates.

Please read through and reply to me here if you have any additional questions!
