Several claim received empty package

Hello

i have had several buyers claim their package arrived empty in the past weeks

They are saying it was opened or torn and the package was empty

We sell small items and place the label over the flap to prevent opening or obvious tampering

I ask the buyer if USPS enclosed a note about package received open, torn or damaged in processing all say no

I have refunded these buyers

My question is are these claims covered by amazon buy shipping?

Thanks

These people are scamming you. Sounds like word is getting around that you refund. STOP REFUNDING.

If you buy shipping on Amazon and the carrier's website showed they picked up on or before the last ship-by date, you should be covered.

ALSO, report each and every one of these packages as damaged/missing/lost in transit through the USPS website (Help>Find missing mail). Get these scammer's addresses on USPS's radar. Also report the buyer to Amazon through their report abuse portal (Report Abuse).

Surprisingly I've occasionally gotten very interesting feedback from local USPS post offices over the years indicating they're aware of a residence's repeated claims of missing mail. I had one post office tell me to tell the buyer to check her video doorbell footage for that day... I did so and the buyer claimed the doorbell thing wasn't working that day and that was unfortunate because she had several other packages stolen as well the same day, so never mind on the refund (cough).

Letting the buyer know you are working with the US Postal Inspector to locate their package/item will often scare these cretins away.

Hello @Seller_fK4mIDvirWwPk,

Thank you for posting here at the forums and bringing this matter to our attention.

If you are covering all of the requirements under Amazon Buy Shipping services, your order should be protected. I can take a look at your order and determine best next steps. Do you have a Claim ID for me to review ?

For future reference here is the Amazon Buy Shipping protections home page.

Thanks,

Joey
