FBM Return/Refund
I rarely get return requests, so it's been a while since I clicked on the Manage Returns link. I now have one, but the work flow seems to have changed. It says that within 24 hours I must do one of four things
Authorize the Refund, Refund, Close the Request or Contact the Buyer
So if I contact the buyer within the 24, but they don't respond, do I then have to authorize it anyways? I don't want them to ship it back, (not worth the postage) and I have a feeling they have contacted the wrong seller (it was a pretty distinctive book, I don't think we shipped the wrong one). I don't want to authorize that if it will automatically make a shipping label. They claim received the wrong item, so I was hoping to just clarify what item they are wanting a refund for, but they have not replied.
Which is a worse ding to the metrics, to just refund, or wait for the A-Z? Thanks for any clarification.

In Canada, the seller doesn't have to pay the postage. If it's a customer decided return reason, the postage is on the buyer to ship it back.
Amazon also does not offer prepaid shipping labels for Canadian Marketplace returns.
So you just authorize it with an unpaid mailing label. If you don't get it back after 60 days of authorization, then you just close the return off.
If the customer takes it to a to z, but does not ship it back and provide a valid tracking number that shows delivered back to you, then Amazon just closes off the a to z claim.
