FBA and customer returning a used and damaged item
Please help this make sense to me. An item ordered via FBA was returned by the customer claiming its missing parts. Amazon gives the customer their money back. Ship the damaged item back to me and it is used and broken, all parts are there. Now I must toss the item in the trash and eat the cost.
I tried to open a case, and was told that Amazon takes no responsibility for items that they refund when a customer damages it

Can you file a safe t claim on FBA returned items? I don't know, we are FBM.

I reviewed your Case 15383216231. I can confirm that what the Seller Support Associate told you is true. I understand you think it is not fair for you to take the loss. If you review the help pages linked below you will learn the policy.
If the damage happened while the inventory was under Amazon's control, you could claim reimbursement. But because it was damaged by the buyer, then Amazon will not reimburse you. Damaged returns are a risk you take when operating an online sales business.
