Approved reseller being forced off Amazon by brand owner

I have been an approved reseller of a well known brand for 12 years. And now I am being forced off Amazon by them. This is not being done directly by the company but by an intermediary company. I was given until the end of June to sell down my inventory. Fine. But all of a sudden, all my listings became search suppressed. Amazon said it was their fault and is taking forever to fix them.

But now when the suppression is fixed, there are no more variations. Each size has it's own listing!! And I can't recreate the families, because I'm not appreoved to sell the brand anymore!! I'm barely selling anything.

And I can't get in touch with anybody at the intermediary company. I would appreciate any and all help!!

It doesn't sound like you were actually approved by the brand owner to resell their products for the last 12 years.

If you were, why not reach out to your brand owner sales rep and get them to direct the intermediary company to stop hassling you since you have approval from the brand owner?

If this had happened to me, I'd be on the phone with the sales rep within about 6 hours to rectify the situation.

Many times you will have brands who will see how much volume a business is moving and then they will want to cut that business out and sell direct to consumers on Amazon. Ultimately manufacturers/brand owners want to sell direct to customers and have always viewed retailers as a necessary "evil" which up to fairly recently had no choice in using retailers to get their products to the market.

Unfortunately Amazon is helping to destroy independent retailers in favor of manufacturers/brands. As a seller we can literally build a listing from nothing through our hard work where it shows up in the rankings with tons of ratings to ultimately have the manufacturer/brand come in and swoop in steal all future sales by blocking you from the listing.

Rather than selling off your stock I think you should be talking to your supplier about returning stock to them. They are in breach of their contract by withdrawing permission to sell.

Then you are not an approved seller of their products. Amazon allowing you to sell something and the brand allowing you to sell on Amazon are two different things.

I have also heard the opposite too.

Brands get a good idea to sell directly on Amazon, customers start buying on Amazon, which cuts out and destroy's the brand's independent retailers business. They get a bunch of sales and a large short term rise in their overall company sales.

Then eventually independent retailers stop buying from the brand as they can't compete with Amazon and drop the brand.

Then the brand starts selling directly to Amazon on vendor central, and then Amazon slowly pushes Walmart style tactics to get their price cost down.

Eventually the brand is so invested in amazon and losing and making less money, and the want to stop with Amazon, but they have no more independent retailers buying from them anymore, so they're stuck, and now selling their products to Amazon for less money than the independent retailers were originally purchasing from them for.

Company profits drop, shareholders get angry, and then the products have to get made even cheaper. Then the quality takes a toll, and then nobody buys their product anymore.

Well it sounds like you aren't an approved reseller then, contrary to what you said in your original post:
