RETURN SHIPMENT COST FOR NON SELLER FAULT RETURN

Hello Everyone,

My question is this. I am currently doing FBM from USA to Amazon.ca, for returns with the reason of no longer needed, wrong size, quality not as expected, inaccurate description, basically all non-seller fault or mistakes of returns, I currently provide pre-paid return label to customers because my return address is in USA, so for the situations customer received a damaged or defective product I will and do pay the full cost of the return, but for the reason I indicated as up there(no longer needed, wrong size, quality not as expected, inaccurate description), after I receive the product, can I deduct the shipping cost from the customer refunds, or can I deduct the customer restocking fee even though they have returned in 30 day time window and in original condition. So what is our place here, do we pay all the return cost even though customer changed their mind, they ordered the wrong size, what is our fault here.

img

In this link it says, The buyer changes their mind* about a purchase and returns an item in the original condition within the return window. Yes. Up to 20% of item's price., but

Accidental order

Better price available

No longer needed/wanted

For these reason it doesn't say anything it directs me to Amazon.ca return website, but it doesn't say anything there either.

Hi @Seller_l2sc3KTajXkAI,

Like your colleague @Seller_7LrAV0m5llaI7mentioned, for international sellers with a default US return address, you must use Amazon’s prepaid returns service. For items returned using prepaid returns service, you are required to issue refunds within two business days of receiving the returned item.

For items that are exempt from Amazon’s prepaid returns, you will have the option to provide your own prepaid return shipping label to customers.

If you do not have a local return address, an international returns provider enrolled in the Returns Provider program or a provider on the Solution Provider Network can help.

In your case, besides charging up to 20% of the restocking fee, you can also do 2 of the following:

Provide prepaid international return shipping: Provide your own prepaid return mailing label for a return request from the stores in which you are selling. For example, if you are selling on Amazon.com and shipping from Canada, you will provide the customer with a return label from the United States to your location in Canada. We recommend that prepaid return shipping labels include tracking.

Enroll with a service provider: Our international returns' provider enrolled in the Returns Provider program or a provider on the Solution Provider Network can help if you do not have a local return address. Using the US domestic return address established as part of your use of a service provider, you will automatically be enrolled into the Amazon Prepaid Return Label program.

For international returns, the cost of return shipping is always the seller’s responsibility, even for faulty returns. If you offer a domestic return option, you are not required to refund the cost of the original shipping for faulty returns. For faulty returns, you must also refund the cost of original shipping.

Hope this information can be of assistance, do let me know if you have any follow-up questions regarding this matter.
