Learn about Amazon.ca policy for listing Veterinary Health Products (VHPs)
VHPs are low-risk veterinary drugs in dosage form used to maintain or promote the health and welfare of companion and food-producing animals. VHPs include products intended for animal use that contain vitamins, minerals, traditional medicines, and homeopathic with a history of safe use. VHPs are federally and provincially/territorially regulated in Canada, and subject to the requirements of Amazon Canada’s Veterinary drugs and health products policy.
In order for a VHP to be sold in Canada, the product must meet the following criteria to be listed on Amazon.ca:
1. Is a VHP, as defined by Health Canada and not for use to treat, prevent or cure disease.
2. Has French/English billingual on product packaging. “Flat labels” or pdfs/images of translated labels that are included as separate images but NOT affixed to the product itself do not satisfy the billingual labelling requirement.
3. Has a valid notification number (NN) as verified against Health Canada’s List of Notified Products.
4. The product, product packaging and labelling, product documents, and product listing do not claim that the product is a “treatment,” “prevention,” “preventative” or “cure” for any of the diseases, disorders or abnormal physical states listed in Schedule A.1 of the FDA.
5. The product, product packaging and labelling, product documents and product listing do not claim that the product is endorsed or approved by Health Canada.
Ensure your listing meets all of the requirements by February 10, 2025.
