A-to-Z Claim for Canada Post Shipment Order: 702-1246242-3233869
HOW DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A customer asks where their shipment is almost a month after we had informed them via a message that there was going to be delay to their shipment due to them only giving us a PO Box to ship to and the Canada Post strike. This customer knew or should have known that Canada Post was on strike and was continually on strike.
The customer then proceeds to open an A-to-z claim and is granted within minutes. This absolutely ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!! And makes no sense whatsoever. HOW DOES THIS CUSTOMER GET TO RECEIVE A PRODUCT FOR FREE DESPITE THIS IS ZERO fault of our own!!! We followed Amazons guidelines to the letter.
Businesses are struggling due to the Canada POST Strike and then Amazon goes and does this!!!!!!

According to Amazon, there was nothing special going on in the last 5 weeks in Canada and any delays in shipping were 100% due to the sellers error.
Wait till the A to Z claims start on orders you shipped after the strike because Purolator or Fedex was not fast enough for the customers liking due to strike volume and weather delays so Amazon starts giving away product you shipped at twice the cost you would have normally.
Amazon's treatment of sellers and the complete lack of any guidance on the strike shows the contempt they have for their "partners".
So frustrating and disheartening.

That is your first mistake, assuming that. If Canada Post is on strike, and your listings are for sale, then it is up to you to find an alternative way to ship the order. You should have contacted the seller and asked for a physical address, rather than using the PO Box Number during a strike.

You can do nothing. Amazon's policy is not in favor of Sellers. Two or three such instances of no fault of yours will get the account deactivated.

Ebay sent messages to all the Canadian sellers and buyers to let them know about the strikes.
And they are implementing automatic protections for late shipment and negative feedback.
But it looks like Amazon does not know anything about the strike.
Amazon sent messages to "their customers" and tell them the packages are "lost" and you can get the refund from the sellers now.
Although we do not use Canada Post, but the strike caused delay to all other couriers.

Hi,
OK, you're not going to like this but it would help if you look at the entire picture. GRANTED, you are the at receiving end of a messy situation, and you're paying for the messy situation you did not create.
First, the customer. S/He did not ask you to use CP as your carrier and would wait indefinitely in case of a strike. YOU chose CP who happened to go on strike. (For the record, CP being on strike is not BIG NEWS as you might think or as it is for us sellers. Take a survey around you...a lot of (unaffected) people don't know or don't care or "Know something"). You can't expect your buyer to automatically be "understanding, though it would be nice....
Next, the big bad wolf that is Amazon. Imagine the customer says "I can't wait any longer, I was expecting it on this date and no longer want it". It makes sense that Amazon would turn around and refund, and not ask the customer to wait -- otherwise that would be one irate customer, justifiably so. If there is one innocent party in this, it's the customer. So Amazon granting the A-Z makes sense (hopefully I don't have to keep saying it's unfair to you)..
So WHO PAYS? Not the customer, not Amazon, not Canada Post. That leaves you. It's that simple.
PS. It's not fair to assume the customer "was hoping for a free product". As you know, all s/he would have to do is claim later on that he never got it.....and considering the strike I expect Amazon's well-known knee-jerk reaction in granting A-Zs would go into overdrive in the next little while.
pps. I would contact the buyer and ask him/her to return it at your expense, and hope it happens. Good luck..

Amazon sets sellers for failure, you should look into selling on other platforms to save your business.

Maybe consider shipping FBA. It may be a little pricier than self-shipping, but more secure and reliable. Our FBA shipments were not affected by the CP strike and we ended up with a massive growth over the previous year as a result.
Consider it....seriously.

Hello @Seller_arTK7AQWkYjmG,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I have escalated this to the team in charge. They will review the situation. I will keep you posted as soon as I have an update.

I love the part where your LSR is 5% in the middle of a postal strike/peak season and Amazon threatens to close your account. Apparently gone are the days when 95% was an A+ grade.

The Scammers are now in full swing, latest trend is to place an order and bank on the item arriving late for a refund, while Canada Post is still struggling to catch up with the backlog.
I already received 2 messages from buyers informing that a refund will be requested if the item is not delivered by the Amazon maximum delivery date.
They actually know the dates shipments are due, so I know this will end up being a loss, and the order was placed for the purpose of getting free goods.
Amazon is not taking into consideration that Canada Post is not guaranteeing any of their services:
On-time service guarantees
On-time service guarantees remain suspended as we continue to stabilize operations. We will notify you when on-time service guarantees are reinstated.
It's a lose lose endeavor, and a win win for Scammers....
