FBA Allowing "Returns" for Non-Returnable Goods

We have a few perishable goods products that are experiencing high volumes of "returns" but in actuality Amazon is just refunding the buyers at our expense regardless of the reason. Product can't be returned so buyer keeps it always.

Any damages to products that buyers receive are due to FBA's logistics team, so why is it that we are responsible for that? Amazon also refused to tell us what exactly the return reason/defect for aside from saying they "investigated" the issue and are unable to credit us.

Majority of the refund reasons are for physical damages to the product, which did not occur prior to landing in the FBA facility. Likely damages are occurring in final transit but we can't be certain since Amazon is not helpful whatsoever.

How is this an acceptable policy? Marking a product as "unreturnable" on Amazon basically is a license for buyers and Amazon to further abuse FBA sellers.

I understand your frustration with the perishable goods returns situation. For your specific situation regarding damages and refunds, please continue working with Seller Support as they can investigate the individual cases and provide guidance.

Have other sellers of perishable goods encountered similar challenges? What has been your experience with FBA handling of these items?
