FBM Return Replacement, if the item isn't returned you have to file a Safe-T claim to be reimbursed.....is this a joke?

I've been waiting to do a test on this and I just got my answer. We had a return replacement in which the customer never returned the original order. I contacted seller support to ask when we could expect reimbursement or how we could check if we have been reimbursed and the answer was to file a Safe-T claim.

I was under the impression that this was automatic, that if the customer didn't return the original that they would be billed for the replacement they received. So now we have to keep track of every replacement order we ship? There isn't even a way to pull them all up, we had to search our shipping software for orders that had $0 dollar amounts and go through them one by one. Then of course we have a specific timeframe window to do this in.

Come on this can't be right, I have to be missing something here or this was a one off. So basically if you want buy one get one free on everything for sale on Amazon just open a replacement return and never ship it back?!

Hello @Seller_2HG5an4fIKmX0- thanks so much for posting on the forums!

To be sure, the 'Seller protection' section of the Replacements for seller-fulfilled returns help page confirms that:

"you’re eligible for an automatic reimbursement if the buyer fails to return the original item to the carrier within 30 days of the replacement order being sent. Allow seven business days for the reimbursement to show up on your Payments page against the replacement order ID."

If however, you've encountered a situation where the automatic reimbursement didn't apply as expected though, the SAFE-T Claim remains a pathway where you can submit to in helping find a resolution.

I hope this is helpful, but let me know if I can help address any other questions on the topic.

Best,

Danny
