Am I losing Money selling on Amazon?
I don't understand something.
I sold an item at 50$ and buyer paid 5$ shipping.
But my shipping cost 25$ and amazon took 10$ in fees... so I basically sold the item to 15$, when it is worth 50$ ...
Is there something I am missing here? or is it that bad to sell on Amazon?
Thanks!

55-25= 30
30-10=20
Did you pay more than $20 for the product? If you did, you need to increase your price. If you didn't you earned some profit.
This is the formula on Amazon. Not every product has enough margin in it to be sold here.
I'm honestly surprised someone paid for shipping. Try FBA, the shipping fees should be less than $25 which will help you with your margins a little.

Sounds like you have an individual account. You can't adjust shipping costs on that account.
Do you have a professional account? Adjust shipping to match what the country avg cost for shipping would be.

Short answer is yes.
You always have to factor in Amazon's cut and what shipping really is. Then look at if what you can make is worth it.
Really rare collectable items are hard sells and I've also been "block" for being too high of price even when I had the only one listed. The only benefit to Amazon is you're potentially reaching millions.

No you didn't.. technically your profit margins are really bad.. Amazon is horrible with sellers and I wouldn't be surprised one day to be taken over by other competitors one day

We can't know unless we know your cost for the item. However, I can tell you that Amazon didn't lose any money.

Switch to FBA. You will get more sales, less hassle and more money in your pocket.

Yes. if the customer claims they never received it, didn't arrive on time or defected. You lose everything plus the shipping cost.
