credit card can not be charged in my Amazon Japan store

I have two credit cards added to my seller central account in bot US, Canada and Japan stores. In the past, I have been charged successfully with the same credit cards for balances without any issues in the CAnada store. Suddenly, neither of my cards are being accepted. I called my bank and they confirmed that there are no blocks on either card and that there is nothing stopping amazon from charging me. They are NOT debit cards, they are both normal credit cards with plenty of available credit, and both are valid. I have verified that all the details I inputted are correct. My card is capable of being charged USD as it has worked on my seller central before.

Some time ago sellers were experiencing rejected cards if they were Capital One, then later if they were using Mastercard. Those issues seem to have been resolved as I've not seen any new threads for a while.

I'm going to recommend going into the buyer account associated with your seller account and update the card on the buyer side first. Give that some time to update and flow through the system; that seems to take a few hours to up to 24 hours. Then go into the seller account and update there with the same card. Hopefully that will resolve your issue.

Hi @Seller_NsweHenDiAVUB,

Steve from Amazon here, thank you for reaching out in the Forums. Can you please provide me with the latest case IDs you have created to Seller Support for this issue? I would like to review this situation and see if I can help here.

In the meantime, I am dropping the Credit Card requirements below for review. Please ensure that the credit card you are trying to add meets all of these requirements.

Credit Card

  • Is the credit card valid?
  • Is there a minimum charge amount?
  • Are you using a pre-paid card? (Note: Use of a pre-paid card is not accepted for a selling account.)
  • Does the bank have a record of the charge attempt?
  • Are there bank limits or policies that prevent the charge attempt from being authorized?
  • Is there any incorrect credit card information entered? (Note: All the credit card information entered such as number, name, address, ZIP code, or expiration date must be an exact match with your card details.)
  • Is this chargeable in the currency of the Amazon marketplace where you registered your seller account?

Thanks,

Steve
