Customer ordered a "Replacement", then returned the product they damaged.
I'm not sure how to proceed here. We've gotten a couple of these lately and I can't figure out how to get our money back.
Order 114-6237682-4672228 was for an expensive hand-assembled table tennis paddle (just under $500). Return claimed damage to the rubber, which seemed unlikely but possible. Replacement order 113-2095358-0080242 shipped out on time. We received the original product back and there are 2 small cuts on the forehand rubber sheet. The likelihood this was done during assembly is practically zero based on the shape, size, and placement of the damage. To top it off, the customer tore the packaging up and wrote their initials on both sides of the blade in permanent marker, so the entire paddle is now a total loss.
I can only get 50% back from restocking fees for the first paddle, which is aggravating but normal. What do I do if they return the other paddle after using it? That'll be nearly $1,000 of used product returned and I can only get less than $250 back.

Original order date was 11/14/24. Return (and replacement order 113-0885606-7805029) initiated 1/29/25 (just under the wire for the insane holiday return policy) claiming:
"The racket handle came off after couple of use, please process replacement of the racket, the handle shouldn’t come off like that without any abuse, probably was defective or wasn’t put together properly" Again, this is HIGHLY unlikely given the quality of products we sell. We reached out to the customer the same day asking for pictures of the "defective" paddle, but did not hear back. Tried again the next day, crickets. We shipped the replacement order on time.
Just received the return back. Nothing wrong with the paddle handle, though they removed both rubber sheets, glued one back on the opposite side (black forehand, we shipped it red forehand) and now they have received another brand new paddle. There goes another $500..........
Amazon mods, please help. This feels like a cheat code Amazon is allowing and I don't seem to have a way to fight it.
