Self Attestation Help
My wife and I run a small business. We are trying to register with Amazon and have been struggling for almost a month with the self-attestation process. They seem to think we are a corporation, even though I have provided them with documentation from our provincial government proving we are a partnership registered with the government. I gave them a self-attestation document based on the example Amazon provides. I received an email in return that stated all that was missing was the percent of shares my wife and I own. I spoke to my lawyer about just giving them a number to pacify them. He told me not to do so because that would be falsifying legal documents. He said as a partnership there are no shareholders so there can’t be shares.
I have sought assistance numerous times and I think they understand, but with this morning’s email, we are back to square one with them requesting the following:
Ensure that the required Self-attestation document meets the following criteria:
-- The document must show the business name and entity.
-- The document must list the entire business structure, including parent companies, ultimate beneficial owners/directors/trustees in terms of physical persons who own 25% or more of shares, the date of birth (DOB) and the percentage of shares that they own.
-- The document must be signed by a legal representative of the business such as a CEO or a beneficial owner.
Has anyone any suggestions?
