Why does a drop shipper have the Buy Box?
Just sold a book via Amazon, so I checked the listing just to remind myself what the book looked like.

And then I quickly realized that I sold the book to the seller who has the Buy Box. This is a pretty famous drop shipper. I normally have no problems with them. But it bothers me that rather than a customer buying my much cheaper copy for sale on Amazon (which, for whatever reason, I do not qualify for the Buy Box, even though my metrics have always been fine), they order through a drop shipper whom Amazon has given the Buy Box to.
Then they turn around and order my much cheaper copy.
Surely, this is not how Amazon intends the Buy Box to work.

By the way, via Amazon:
Seller Central: Becoming the Featured Offer
Price your items competitively
Offer faster shipping and free shipping (Note: Products with faster estimated delivery times are also more likely to be the featured offers on product detail pages)
Provide great customer service
Keep stock available.
***
Of course, the featured offer is NONE of these things. Not competitive pricing. Slower shipping (because item has to be shipped to them before they re-ship it). Literally NO stock available, as they don't carry inventory.
If Amazon would just actually enforce it's policies as written, maybe it wouldn't be such a s*** show.

Greetings @Seller_JoMRxyleLs4PS,
In general Amazon doesn't share specifics on why a seller is or is not selected for the Featured Offer and we won't be able to provide greater context. However if you have evidence that a seller is violating the Drop Shipping Policy please provide your details via the Report a Violation tool. Thank you.
