Buyer send fraudulent return (3 orders) and I am nervous to report due to A to Z....are there protections?
Just as title states. Buyer bought new parts for his car. Put old worn out parts back in box. The worn out parts are not even ours. I know this happens sometimes when buyers have an issue and choose to re-purchase and return.
This is not eligible for a SAFE-T claim and the 3 packages are not RFS (refund at first scan). I am only able to charge a 100% restocking fee. If I get bad feedback over this, do I have any sort of recourse?

Nope. Unfortunately, Amazon will not remove feedback that does not violate their rules.

I decided I'm not refunding the buyer. I'm taking lots of detailed pictures and sending them to Amazon, even if we can't get anything out of it. I'm charging 100% restocking fee. If we get an ODR hit, I'll take it up with Amazon. Our account is in good standing anyways. I'm just sick and tired of being at risk of getting penalized over fraudulent activity.
Edit: I'll be updating this if anything happens.

I am sorry to hear that you were scammed. I sell new tools and one of my returns the person returned a bunch of old screws, amazon said there was nothing they could do even though I sent pictures. Just the cost of doing business I guess.

If you charge more then a 50% restocking fee it will auto refund to the buyer.
He will file an a-z regardless of what kind of scan you do
pictures wont matter, what you need to do is make a VIDEO of you opening the box as proof.
Regardless he will most likely leave bad feedback and you will get a defect even if you did nothing wrong, its just how this marketplace works
We stopped selling everything over 50$ here for this reason, and we have been selling online since 1999

Why is it not eligible for safe t claim?

Sorry to hear that, we are having the same issues as you do, unfortunately, we just have to factor that into our cost and take the loss.

Here is the link to the guidelines for restocking fees…

I find it extremely frustrating that it does not include the “Switcheroo” scenario.
This is so common that Amazon has a term specifically for it but does not acknowledge it in the restocking scenario chart. I have had this happen multiple times and have been penalized for charging more than a 50% restock fee. I am concerned that this is another situation where the ambiguity is purposeful.
If anyone knows of a different link where this exact switch scenario exists and the guidelines for refunding, please post it.

We sell shoes, and when customers send back something other what we send them, we do 100% restock fee, they sometime open an A/Z case, bus so far, amazon sided with us in all cases, or paid from there pocket. maybe one in a few dozens this year left us a negative feedback, one did 2 chargebacks, and in the 2nd chargeback we lost. all ones that that did 1 chargeback we won.

don't worry about the feedback most of the time these scammers know what they did and wont leave a feedback

Take Pictures of the Used Parts and report them so theyre account has only so many chances before its too obvious. These kind of ppl need to stop and they will not stop until we stop them .
