Incorrect Product Dimension Measurement

Dear Amazon Seller Support Team and Fellow Sellers,

I am seeking assistance regarding an issue with my product’s dimensions that has significantly impacted my FBA and storage fees. My product belongs to the Large Standard Size category, but Amazon's measurements place it in the Large Oversize (Bulky) category, leading to increased fees and financial hardship.

The critical measurement in question is the length of the product box, which I have verified multiple times to be between 17 1/2" and 17 3/4"—clearly under the 18" threshold. Despite this, Amazon’s system consistently records the length as exceeding 18".

Key Detail:

My product is packaged in a hard box with fixed dimensions, not a loose polybag or packaging with protruding handles. The rigid structure of the box ensures there is no variation or potential for the dimensions to exceed the measured length I provided. This should eliminate any room for error in determining the size.

Case Summary (Case ID: 16633296121):

  1. I have opened a case and requested re-measurements on multiple occasions.
  2. Each time, I provided clear photos showing the accurate dimensions of the product.
  3. The support team has measured the product more than twice within 60 days, but the reported length remains incorrect.
  4. Amazon is now refusing further re-measurements, citing the two-measurement policy within 60 days.

While I respect Amazon’s policy, I believe the accuracy of measurements should take precedence over the number of times a product is measured. As a seller, I rely on precise data to manage my business effectively. The current misclassification of my product’s size has caused:

  • Higher FBA fees.
  • Increased storage fees.
  • Unnecessary financial strain.

Request for Resolution:

  1. Escalate this case to a senior support team for a detailed review.
  2. Provide clarity on the measurement process and why my findings differ significantly from Amazon's.
  3. Perform an accurate measurement or allow me to submit further verifiable proof of the product’s true dimensions.

I greatly appreciate Amazon’s commitment to supporting sellers, and I trust this matter will be reviewed thoroughly. If any fellow sellers have faced a similar issue and successfully resolved it, your advice would be invaluable.

Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to your response.

Hello @Seller_MJ7DyempbIeFc

Christine here.

I just received an update from the team in charge.

"Amazon recently remeasured the product at 4 different fulfillment centers that confirmed a length beyond 18 inches and thus correctly assigning the Large bulky Product size tier for FBA fees"

Please know that the information provided in the case ID 16633296121 is correct.

Also, Amazon is unable to accept measurement photographs to modify the dimensions used for fulfillment fees. With FBA, we pick the product from a shelf and place it on a conveyor belt, where calibrated sensors capture the measurements with high accuracy. This dimensioning technology is industry standard for fulfillment, and we do not manually enter product measurement values due to the scale of our operations.

Christine.
