New to Amazon questions about ASIN/Scams/Other

Hello,

Im new to amazon FBA and im trying to list a few items. Do others approve for you to use ASIN numbers? Or do i need to obtain one myself? Are other sellers kind of work together and allow you to use their ASIN numbers or no because of competition?

Also, if you have Amazon FBA, what happens if a customer says they didnt receive a package? Does amazon automatically refund the customer? I've been seeing discussions on the forum saying Amazon allows people to get away with scams.

Lastly, If theres anything else I should know before starting, i would really appreciate it. Is it worth it to sell? Can we even make a profit with all the competition? Is the number legit where it says the number of how many people bought in the past month or do people pay to boost their product?

Thanks for your help!

Take 4-5 weeks to learn how Amazon works. It's a self service platform where the seller has to resolve problems and find solutions himself. So read the forum daily for 1-2 hours and learn here:

https://sellercentral.amazon.com/learn

If you want to sell BRANDS you will need:

1. A "Letter of Authorization" from the brand owner allowing you to sell their brand on Amazon.

2. INVOICE (not receipt) from an authorized distributor. An invoice is a document with your name and address, exactly how you registered it in your seller account under "Legal Entity" and "Official Registered Address". And an authorized distributor is a company authorized by the brand owner. If you buy on the WEBSITE of a brand, you get a receipt and not an invoice.

You can not go in stores or buy on websites and resell on Amazon.

Before you take a single other step forward, spend at least 3-4 hours reading forum posts that have replies!!!!

Hi there @Seller_YxfFkoWb9sKa4,

I recommend checking out the suggestions from @Seller_rI7BZIczK8iAC to get a sense of Amazon policies however I will address some of your questions here:

ASINs are associated with each product in the catalog and are provided by Amazon when a listing is created. If you are listing a product that already exists on Amazon (with a matching GS1 Approved UPC) you should list against the existing ASIN.

Amazon Manages all aspects of FBA orders, including Customer Service including if the buyer should be refunded. You can learn more on the FBA Returns Page.

Please continue to review the content in Seller University as you learn to sell. Have a great day.
