ASIN Wrongfully Taken Down – Requesting Advice on Reinstatement for Cosmetic Product

I’ve encountered an issue regarding my pimple patch product, which was taken down due to a supposed "Restricted Product Policy Violation." Amazon flagged it for not having a DIN/NPN number, as they incorrectly categorized my product as a health product.

Here’s the situation:

My pimple patches are cosmetic, not a health product. They do not treat or cure acne but improve the appearance of pimples.

I’ve submitted a Cosmetic Notification Form (CNF) to Health Canada, supporting the product's cosmetic classification. I have the cosmetic number and the case number from Health Canada.

The product contains only 0.2% Salicylic Acid, far below the 2% limit allowed for cosmetics in Canada.

Labelling: The product labelling does not claim to treat or cure acne; it only mentions improving the look of pimples. It is compliant with Health Canada regulations.

I’ve also updated the product detail page to remove any misleading wording that might suggest medical claims.

Despite all of this, Amazon is still asking for a DIN/NPN number, which does not apply to cosmetic products.

Has anyone faced a similar issue with misclassification? I’ve already opened cases with Amazon support, but they keep sending me generic responses requesting a DIN/NPN, even though it’s not needed.

Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you for posting your concerns with your listing removals.

I’ve encountered an issue regarding my pimple patch product, which was taken down due to a supposed "Restricted Product Policy Violation." Amazon flagged it for not having a DIN/NPN number, as they incorrectly categorized my product as a health product.

As noted this was due to a restricted product policy concerns, can you provide the related ASINs and Case IDs associated with them? I have limited visibility into your account, thus would need more information to look further into the situation provide guidance or ensure the appropriate teams are involved.

Hello @Seller_KYhBb8zbhyL9u,

Thank you for following up with this additional information.

ASIN: B0DH2W4MQ3

Case ID: 16064931131

Looking over the case, I do see it is still very new, it has been moved to the appropriate teams for further review. I have also taken a look at the listing and details, I do see a few mentions of "improving the look of acne" which could be seen as a type of treatment. Additionally where I do think the issue stems from is the attribute for recommended use, where I see "For spot treatment of pimples and acne.".

As this does make a claim in the listing details to be a treatment for acne, you will need to ensure the entire listing is reviewed to remove any or all similar claims so the listing can be found compliant for what it is. If your product does make these claims it would require the mentioned DIN/NPN numbers.

Hello @Seller_KYhBb8zbhyL9u,

Thank you for following up with this additional info.

However, since the product has been blocked and inactive it doesn't make actual changes to the product detail page. This is the reason why you are still seeing "For spot treatment of pimples and acne."

I am attaching few screenshots of my product detail page which shows the corrected text in the box but doesn't update on the actual detail page.

As my ability to assist with listing updates is limited, I have reached out to our community managers to take a look over the situation and follow up here if they can offer more guidance. While waiting for their feedback on the situation, I would ask that you upload these recent pictures to your related case so they can also be reviewed for compliance and to see the listing updates issue.
