Small and Light vs standard FBA

What the the advantages for either the buyer or seller of using FBA instead of SnL? I currently offer our eligible products as SnL, and also as standard FBA for $1 more since thats about how much extra amazon charges us in fees. So the SnL should have the buy box and i figure if SnL is slower or not available for a particular customer then they will go for FBA.

But i've done some analysis recently and lots of customers seem to be choosing the more expensive option even when the delivery estimate is the same for their zipcode. Why? Would amazon give the buy box to the more expensive FBA option sometimes and customers dont notice the cheaper option?? Is the best solution to remove FBA completely and only offer SnL so customers always see the best price?

Hello @Seller_VJJJQTqLWK2PV Thank you for those questions about Small & Light. Those were some good questions, but I want to make sure you saw our recent announcement:

Low-Price FBA rates to replace Small and Light on August 29

We have decided to end the US FBA Small and Light program and instead lower the standard FBA rates for all low-price products, making it simpler for every seller to take advantage of lower fees (without the need of opting-in) on their low-priced selection, while providing the same FBA delivery speeds that customers love.

Please check that News thread if you have more questions.
