Suspicious emails from amazon.com domain

This is a bit concerning: we received at least one email from amazon.com recently. The most recent one was an email saying, "congratulations on your new seller account registration", "under review", "notifications" and "Learn more about Seller Identity Verification". We don't have a new registration, and no notifications in Seller Central. It seemed like bait but the email originated from amazon.com's domain.

I started a case log and used chat to discuss. They confirmed that no email was sent from their end. But I expressed even heightened concern about the sender being amazon's domain, but they would not escalate it or report it internally.

We should be able to trust emails from amazon's domain, so it is very concerning. It is also concerning that the chat employee was unwilling to report the concern internally. Has anyone else had any concerns or issues with emails originating from amazon.com's domain? I have the original email and the transcript from the chat available.

Very concerning that the amazon.com domain may be compromised internally.

In addition to that, I also wanted to send you a couple of resources that can help identify if the email is fake or not:
