An ASIN is used in the USA but cannot find it under "Sell your's" in Canada
Hello,
I am in the process of importing a product that is well sold in the USA and cannot find it’s listing on my Amazon.ca account.
Do I have to
1-create a brand new listing on Amazon.ca therefore new ASIN
2-request the US’ seller’s permission to use the ASIN in Canada?
3-request Amazon’s permission to use the ASIN from the United States.
Thank you to any experienced seller that may have gone through the process.
Eric

Amazon does not duplicate items that have never been sold on a marketplace, automatically. You will need to re-add (using the same ASIN or UPC/EAN/ISBN) along with the brand to match. You will then need to provide the description (consider a bilingual version with the French translation, as well). You should not have a new ASIN. You won’t usually need Amazon’s permission as long as the category and brand gating approval requirements are addressed. You should know those already for the US and will usually see the restrictions when trying to add the item for Canada.
Regarding ownership of the ASIN, if that seller OWNS the brand, you should have permission. If it is generic or owned by another party, you may not require that. You may need to contact the brand owner to ensure that there are no distribution restrictions for Canada. Some brands have exclusive suppliers (e.g. distributors) and possibly exclusive resellers.
