Can I Deliver an Item to a Local Buyer?
Someone 5 miles from my house just bought a book I listed on Amazon. Can I personally deliver it to the Customer instead of mailing it? If so, how do I handle the tracking and shipping confirmation? Does Amazon require that before they pay me?

Do not do this. Ship it using Amazon's postage so you have proof of shipping and delivery.

In case you need another voice -- No! Do not do this.
There are so many downsides or potential downsides and really no upside.
Even if you disregard our advice DO NOT just show up at someone's home. And you cannot phone them.

Besides the advice given, it's not even worthwhile. 5 miles each way is 10 miles round trip. Even in a fuel efficient car, that will cost as much or more than the postage (assuming it's a regular size book). Plus your time.
Bad idea, with no upside.

Folks do not appreciate strangers without a uniform (UPS, USPS, FeDex or what have you) showing up on their property uninvited.

Hi @Seller_M3vnGYapWpm2Z,
Thank you for reaching out on the Seller Forums!
I'm happy to see that sellers have jumped in here to provide you with an answer. To echo what's already been said, it is highly recommended that orders are shipped through a carrier that provides a tracking number.
If you have any additional questions, please let me know!
All the best,
Jameson
