Customer was just refunded $2575 for a laptop that's in transit and set for delivery on Thursday. No AtoZ claim was opened

How in the hell does a customer get a $2575 refund while an item is in transit? Also since I purchased the label through amazon I can't contact USPS and have the package sent back to me?

And the best part is, the customer was refunded WITHOUT OPENING AN ATOZ CLAIM. At least with an AtoZ claim I would've been covered for the full amount. With a safe-t I can only get HALF of the original amount if that. From what I can gather lately amazon is refusing most safe-t claims no matter the reason.

So what can I do, fly to GUAM and intercept the package? What other options do I have.

Any input appreciated.

Thanks

"So what can I do, fly to GUAM and intercept the package? What other options do I have."

I don't have a solution for Amazon allowing theft and fraud BUT if this was shipped using the USPS please report the issue to the Postal Inspectors as mail fraud. If not, report it to the carrier.

ALSO the Government has a site IC3 (Amazon will remove the link if I put it here but it’s part of the FBI for an easy search) where you can report the use of the internet for theft if it was UPS, FedEx or whatever. It is generally used to report on websites but it can be used to report buyers as well if you happen to encounter one of the Amazon scam crowd.

In all cases it at least puts the con artists into a data base for future reference by the authorities.

There's an OLD saying -- If you aren't part of the solution you are part of the problem.

PLEASE REPORT, REPORT, REPORT, REPORT.

And, DO NOT forget the Police Department where you are, as well as where the 'buyer' is!

This happened to me once. Someone in customer service issued the refund on your behalf. I called Amazon Customer service and they instructed me on how to open a case. Someone at Amazon later called me and while I was on the phone reimbursed me. I suggest you call Amazon try to see if you can open a case. Since you stated that the package is going to Guam I bet money that the customer called and got a an agent in the Philippines and once they started talking to their countrymen they issued the refund. Try the following. I had similar experience before and an USPS employee helped me to retrieve the item.

Go a USPS Office and talk to them. Show the USPS the label and ask if you can retrieve the item. There will be small fee.

file a police report you're talking about felony theft. nothing will stop them from doing it to you or others without fear.

I would file an intercept with USPS. They will charge you, but in this case you'd be out much more if you cannot get the laptop back.

wow. Amazon is getting more and more ridiculous. They continue to allow buyer scams & buyer fraud. Smh. It's common sense: BEFORE GIVING THE REFUND, NOBODY LOOKED AT THE TRACKING HISTORY TO SEE IT WAS IN TRANSIT AND THATS CUSTOMER FRAUD.

THIS MEANS 2 THINGS AMAZON:

1- PEOPLE ARE WORKING WITH THEIR EYES CLOSED OR

2- ITS NOT A REAL HUMAN.

Ship ONLY to destinations within the 50 States of the U.S. nothing else. You're asking for trouble and it sounds like the buyer may be aware of your ignorance. Might spend whatever profit made hiring an attorney to subpoena Amazon for facilitating GRAND THEFT. First step, file a report with your local police and get the report # for future action—Amazon named as selling platform AS WELL AS THE BUYER'S NAME and address. The police report gives your claim some teeth for negotiating with Amazon. Also, police may offer a solution to informing GUAM authorities, that a grand theft has occurred --Good thing that GUAM is a satellite nation of the U.S., otherwise, you'd be S.O.L.
