Hi @Seller_Wdz2KB5siBaii,

According to the "Marketplace Withheld Tax" help page (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/GTZG36WJ2TZYLH2F), this refers to taxes that Amazon is legally required to collect and remit to government authorities, such as sales tax, GST, or VAT, depending on the order's destination.

Key points:

  • The buyer pays these taxes
  • Amazon deducts and remits them to the appropriate authorities
  • This applies to all sellers and products when shipping to jurisdictions with Marketplace Facilitator laws
  • If the amount Amazon deducts is less than what was collected from the buyer, you're responsible for remitting the difference

Kind regards, Michael

"Amazon obligated tax withheld" amount is debited, whereas the HST collected is credited to our account for us to remit. So I am not sure what tax this is. Possibly provincial sales tax for provinces we are not registered?
