Amazon won't let me change my legal business name

Hi all,

So i just signed up for Amazon FBA, I have an old corp that I decided to keep open and I decided to change the name of my corp, so i filed the letter of amendment with the secretary of state and filed my tax return with name change name box checked, So now i have a new business name using the same EIN ..

When I signed up for Amazon they rejected my new business name because they could not verify it with the IRS since the name change happened a few days ago. so in order to complete my registration i had to use the old name.

Now the problem is that i can't register my brand name since the trademark application i filed with USPTO is under my new business name and Amazon is saying the names are not matched. Cause my Amazon account is under my old business name and my trademark is under the new business name ..

Amazon customer service bots are useless.. copy and paste nonsense replies.

Any input is highly appreciated.

When we changed from a sole prop to an LLC we moved to a different state at the same time.

We just got a new EIN with the new name, worked fine for Amazon. Just had to make sure EVERYTHING is in the new name before changing it. This means insurance, Credit Cards, bank accounts, commercial accounts, business license, tax certs, everything in hand.

Once all the docs are ready you will have to change the Amazon purchasing account BEFORE the selling account. They are linked and will cause a mismatch.

Once the purchasing account business entity name has changed then you can change the seller account business entity and display name with the new data.
