Credit Card Issue

I have issue with my credit card. It shows that Credit Card is Invalid. However, it was already charged. Can the credit card be mentioned as invalid if it was already charged?

What should I do in this case? Change the card? I have only bank account, will it work?

It sounds like you are trying to use a debit card.

While Amazon will use that card to deduct anything you owe, the card will not suffice to allow you to use your selling account.

It must be a valid credit card. Credit, not debit. And not prepaid. The fact that Amazon charged that card is immaterial.

As always, @Seller_Hi7wbO2Kbo6blhas given you the 'short and sweet' version and I will give you the 'advanced' course on Amazon tactics for fund collection --

I will expand on the situation so you understand exactly what AMAZON has done to you (and thousands of others) if you used a DEBIT card to open the account.

This is one of the great flaws in the Amazon system. You can OPEN an Amazon account with a DEBIT card but when you go to the next step and want to be a seller you need a credit card.

IF Amazon was interested in ANYTHING other than cash flow (for them) they would verify that applicants for a SELLING account had a VALID credit card on file BEFORE they allowed an account to be opened.

Amazon is NOT interested in correcting that issue because they collect $40 EVERY TIME a "seller" opens an account and then does NOT have a valid card that they can use on the site.

THOUSANDS of "new sellers" every month and HUNDREDS that don't have (initially) the proper cards on file. And that translates to MILLIONS of dollars a year for (you guessed it) AMAZON.

Here are the steps on the Amazon "help" board for fixing the issue IF you have a valid card to use:

Update your credit card information

If you have received an error message about your credit card, it is important to update your credit card information as soon as possible.

Check the below information related to your credit card:

Is the credit card valid?

Is there a minimum charge amount?

Are you using a pre-paid card? (Note: Use of a pre-paid card is not accepted for a selling account.)

Does the bank have a record of the charge attempt?

Are there bank limits or policies that prevent the charge attempt from being authorized?

Is there any incorrect credit card information entered? (Note: All the credit card information entered such as number, name, address, ZIP code, or expiration date must be an exact match with your card details.)

Is this chargeable in the currency of the Amazon marketplace where you registered your seller account?

Until the card verification problem is resolved, Amazon won't be able to process any payments for your account.

Note: Only the primary account owner can make changes related to payment information.

Hello @Seller_nOSyp95RZ6wX3,

Thank you for posting your inquiry to the Forums.

When you register as a seller, you must enter a credit card that will accept international charges and that has a valid billing address located in an eligible country.

Accepted credit cards include:

  • American Express
  • Diners Club
  • Discover
  • JCB
  • MasterCard
  • Visa

I have included some help pages below that detail bank account and credit card requirements. I would suggest reviewing to ensure that the card you have on file meets all the requirements.

Bank account and credit card information for your seller account

Add, update, view, and verify your bank account information

Registration requirements by marketplace

Please feel free to open a case with Support for troubleshooting if continue to experience this concern and feel free to provide updates on this thread if you need further assistance.
