Fake IP complaints

Hi guys! Does anyone here know how to fight fake IP complaints? The platform is a mess and we are wondering if anyone is paying attention. The seller support folks can't even identify a fake name most likely because all of them are foreigners. It seems like they verify if the complaint is legit by the existence of the trademark which anyone can get from the government website. Absolutely ridiculous!

And all of you conartists who file those complaints (you know who you are and we do, too), what can't go on won't.

I understand you have a received intellectual property complaint and are wondering how to address it, as well as how to report possible suspicions of an invalid report. I would like to provide some insight into the applicable policies, how to address them, as well as how to report such feelings of unease in regards to the complaint.

intellectual property is held within high regard due to the level of complexity behind it. All sellers are required to be respectful and use a right's owners intellectual property in the correct fashions, alongside the applicable authorizations. Sellers are also expected to follow local, state, federal laws, and Amazon policies.

There are 3 main types of IP rights:

  • Copyrights are legal protections for original works of authorship
  • Trademarks are legal protections for a word, symbol, design, or combination of the same that a company uses to identify goods and services
  • Patents are legal protections for inventions

Each type of Amazon policy violation has a different way to address them, such as a submission of an invoice or providing a letter of authorization.

If you would not mind providing further insight into the specific complaint and violation received, it would assist the forums community and myself in providing you the exact information you need.

If you have suspicions of incorrect information being provided and are able to provide as much detail as possible, I suggest you utilizing the Report Abuse tool or create a case with the Selling Partner Support team within the Help menu on Seller Central. Any evidence of incorrect information being submitted to Amazon in the complaint ID provided is best suited for the Help case.

I look forward to your reply,

Stevie
