When Does the $39.99 Monthly Fee Start
I'm new to Amazon and currently setting up my seller account. I'd like to know: will the $39.99 monthly fee be charged as soon as I add my credit card, or only once I start selling? It will still take some time before my products are ready, and for now, I just want to get the account settings in place. Is that possible?Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi @Seller_iF2zafHwvyCXm
Connor from Amazon here. Welcome to our forums community.
When you enter your credit card details, Amazon will charge the $39.99 monthly fee right away.
Since your products aren't quite ready yet, you might want to consider a couple of options:
You could hold off on completing the account setup until you're closer to having your products ready. You are not required to be a professional seller to fully set up your account.
You can also begin with an Individual Seller account - there's no monthly fee, just a $0.99 per-item charge when you make sales. You can always upgrade to Professional plan later when you're ready.
Let me know if you have any questions - always happy to help out a fellow seller.
Best regards,
Connor

Keep in mind that while you're on the Individual plan, you'll be limited to 40 listings per month and won't have access to features like bulk inventory tools, sponsored ads, or advanced reports.
Is this something new?
From what we can find ...
- An Amazon Individual Seller Account doesn’t have a set limit on the number of listings a seller can have, but it’s recommended for sellers who expect to sell fewer than 40 items per month.
If you have less than 40 sells per month, the Individual Plan may be better dollar wise ... but, once you attain more than 40 sells per month, the Professional Plan is the better way to go dollar wise.
Can you please confirm if the Individual Plan is now limited to 40 listings per month as stated? If so, please provide the Seller Help page providing this new info so we can reference it in the future.
Thanks!

This was meant that if they plan to sell more than 40 items a month then the Professional plan is a better pick overall for their business. But yes, is no limit on items you can list for sale at the individual plan level.
