Losing Featured Offer Randomly
My featured offers are on and off randomly every time I update my listing. I just have 1 product with 2 variations and sometimes variation A has the featured offer and sometimes is variation B. It doesn't make any sense. I'm the only seller on that listing
I know the criteria and that you can't reveal more than that but still it doesn't make sense to have only 1 variation with the featured offer knowing that it's the same product. My account health is good, I don't have negative feedback. Everything looks good on my account and I know I'm eligible because I had the featured offer before
2 days ago, I've changed just my title using a flat file and as expected I lost the featured offer for my variation. So now, I don't have the featured offer for any of my variations which is very very bad.
At least I would like to understand why it is so random. Updating a title, bullet points or minor items shouldn't remove that featured offer.
Can you help me with that?

The Featured Offer (Buy Box) is not a right or a given. It is like the old Clairol TV add used to say, "Only your hairdresser knows for sure". Now just replace the hairdresser with Amazon. It is run by an Algorithm Bot that giveth and taketh away.
There can only be one Featured Offer for each unique product. Sellers seem to enjoy it when they have it, and then complain when they do not. But remember, when a seller is disappointed with the loss of the featured offer, they seem to forget, another seller is happy with that loss, because it is their gain.

It is true that some pages, depending on the category or the offers attached, may not always have an Offer Display. This page has more information, but it does confirm that being the sole seller on a listing can't guarantee placement as the Featured Offer.
I understand it can be frustrating, but the best actions you can take are these best practices for becoming featured.
