"I purchased a product from your store, and the experience left me utterly shocked.
As soon as the product arrived, I opened the package, and to my horror, an insect crawled out of it, accompanied by a few small bed bugs roaming inside the package. Additionally, there was a thick layer of dust surrounding the product, making me wonder how long it had been sitting in the warehouse.
Furthermore, a terrible smell emanated from the package. It was evident that the odor wasn't coming from the product itself but most likely from the environment where the packaging was done or due to the presence of the harmful insects. This whole scene clearly indicated the neglect in terms of hygiene and safety that the product had undergone. That's why I took the package and the product away from the house and immediately threw it in the trash.Because of the allergic reactions I had, I had to pay the hospital $200 for treatment.
This terrible experience left a significant impact on me, both physically and emotionally. I wanted to return the product immediately, but I hesitated as I couldn't be sure whether the bugs and dust had damaged the product or not. I also feared that these harmful insects might infest my home.
I talked to Amazon for about 15 minutes.
Amazon said that if I request it, they can initiate a quality research on the product for the Business Prime member and request information and documents from you.
After inspection they said that a refund is possible. I absolutely did not accept this.
They advised me to contact you and said you can help with a refund.
I wanted to contact you without complaining and writing negative feedback, I wanted to inform you and compromise before filing a case."
FYI - product is a brand new, factory sealed car-alarm remote, bought directly from the manufacturer. We sell 1000's each year with no bugs or odors. It's just so touching to see how emboldened these predators have become.

I wonder if this is a known scam, I know I have read this exact email before, I remember a lot of the details.

As the poster above suggests -- this is a template. Just copied from somewhere on the net.
My advice: treat this as a return request. Ignore 100% of what they said. Do not address anything at all if you communicate. Just give instructions for return.

It won't stop. There's no disincentive to taking a shot. We have a customer that buys DVDs from us every few weeks. Every single time, he sends the same message about how the dvd didn't work and he tried it on a few players and so on and he would like a refund. He never opens a return request or does anything else.

I was waiting for you to tell us you just mailed it yesterday so there's no way they could have even gotten it yet. Half the time, these thieves and cheaters can't even keep their orders, scams, complaints straight. What a horrible woman. Early twenties, I'll bet. So sad there isn't a way to block not just certain people but certain age groups. So sorry this happened.

Explain the need for the product to be returned before a refund can be issued take back the item and refund. Do not engage after that. Sorry you have been had this is amazon we all get our turn.

That one does seem to cover all the bases! I recently had a book customer complain of a chemical smell in the book and packaging. Customer claimed to have had Lyme disease which caused ultra sensitivity. Not too long ago, there were a small number of "missing pages" reports. They always to be the same pages reported (all different books), so I figured they got it from a "how to scam website" and were not even creative enough to vary the pages.

SCAMS DISAPPEAR, THEN REPEAT. They apparently never go away.
Twelve years ago, when we began selling, this was the scam being discussed in an older forum.
In those days, think the recipient broke out in hives or some sort of rash that took her to the dermatologist. Or the item's odor caused their grandfather to have a cardiac event and the recipient had to call an ambulance. Scam fits all, dependent on how imaginative the scammer.
Used to be roaches or silver fish crawled out of the parcel or weevils in an edible item, but bedbugs in US have become nearly endemic. Gotta keep up w/ the times!!

It's not even a coherent message! After saying that they wouldn't "accept" a refund, they immediately ask if you "can help with a refund"!
The supposed conversation with an Amazon rep makes me wonder if the buyer even bothered to call, and is just looking for the fastest, easiest way to get the product for free.

Just refund in full and forget this happened. That's what Amazon wants you to do. Foreign support only stands by the buyer

Maybe just reply with a giant laughing emoji, adding "Good one!"
