Canada Post - Community Mailbox - Post Office Pick up
Has any one been running with issues that people are more and more abusing the Canada Post Community Mailbox, or Postal Office, that they didn't get the parcel? It seems we have been getting more and more increasing numbers of people, who assume that Photo Picture should have been taken. Do not check the tracking #, just look up at amazon app that parcel was delivered. Wont go to postal office to pick up parcel.
For Community Mailboxes, people are contacting weeks after the fact and we had few customers who contacted us Months after the delivery (best one was 3 months) Customers wont wait for Canada Post to complete investigation, file A-Z Claims, and after 2 weeks from Canada Post investigation, all we get is that customer never responded to Canada Post request to confirm non delivery.
Winning A-Z claims based on Canada Post Community Mailboxes, is non existent. As apparently nobody at Amazon recognizes Community Mailboxes, since it was not delivered to customer address.
My worry is, that with Canadian Economy, people will be taking more and more advantage of this, and we as sellers will be paying for it.
We have switched most of our inventory to FBA, however, we do still get random orders from customers, who wont buy from FBA. Which makes me wonder, if they are abusing the FBM policy for delivery parcels.

This happened to me twice in two weeks, I lost $190 due to the A-Zs automatically granted, which will happen when you don't get signature. One of mine was much cheaper to ship with my freight forwarder, so I took the chance. So it's my own fault, thankfully it doesn't happen to me too often. Two good orders today, I'm paying the extra and getting signatures on both.
The response from Canada Post is kind of rude. Not many people want to be bothered dealing with Canada Post, whether they are being dishonest or not. They're either already POd they didn't get the package, or don't want anyone looking into it if they are scammers.

The postal service is dropping off larger packages right to the local postal station and not leaving a pick up card so the buyer doesn't know their package is at the postal station. To cover yourself you have to send the buyer a message as soon as you receive the message and ask them to contact their local post office to receive their package. You can use this in your defense against the A-Z Claim. I do this, it has worked, 6 of 7 claims. This what I write:
It has come to my (our) attention that Canada Post have been dropping of larger packages at your local Postal Station and not leaving a card. Please check your local Postal Station for tracking#--------------- . Please contact me if the package is not there. If I (we) don't hear from you in 7 days this case will be closed as "RECEIVED". I have already started an internal investigation, that may take up to 2 weeks, with Canada Post which I will cancel if I (we) don't hear back with a week. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Put the message on your computer "Copy and Paste" fill in the tracking #. Be sure to open the claim with Canada Post and make the complaint. I know this is work but it may save you from the claim.
2- Pay the $2.00 for a signature, however if they carrier doesn't leave a card you still have to do the steps above.
3-Change carriers.
If you do stay with Canada Post on the tracking page you have to make a complaint every time this happens. It's laziness, I know it is a pain but complaints do work if there are enough. Take the time.

Happens to us continuously when it comes to Community Mailboxes, so we have a templated response the second we get a item not received message and notice it's a community mailbox.
Almost 95% of the time the Canada Post delivery person leaves it in the Large Parcel compartment and don't drop it to the door, or leave a card in the personal actual community mailbox slot. Once we let them know they usually go check and sure enough it's in that other box. Saved us many times from a refund. Just surprised how many customers don't check that. But they assume Amazon = door delivery.

that's one of the reasons I don't use Canada Post, use other carrier like UPS Purolator instead
