A-Z claim being granted despite the National strike by Canada Post and Amazon shoulders the resposibility on the seller

We’ve started receiving a significant number of A-to-Z claims being granted by Amazon, even though the package delays are due to the ongoing national strike in Canada. Essentially, the packages cannot even be returned, as they’ve indicated that deliveries will only proceed on a FIFO (first-in, first-out) basis once the strike is over.

Is there any possibility to recover the funds? At this point, it seems Amazon is holding us accountable for the national strike, which is beyond our control, resulting in a double loss—both the cost of the shipped packages and the refunds being granted from our account.

Interested in Amazon's response on this as well as many of the packages that are in storage at customs were shipped BEFORE the strike was announced and therefore it's out of the shipper's control.

Hello @Seller_wWFdlN1O6sidd- and thanks for looking to the seller forums to start this discussion. In the event of a granted A-to-z Claim where you believe the decision is inaccurate, I would recommend appealing that decision, following this guidance, and considering these details on what to include in an appeal. It may also be beneficial to state the reason for the delay being carrier issues outside Amazon or seller control.

There may also be the ability to reach out to the carrier to discuss possible recourse in such a situation, if you've not yet explored such an avenue.

Best regards,

Danny
