New Seller- FBM , need help with Late shipments

We are a new seller on Amazon, and Amazon is giving us a bad rating on late shipments. We always ship within 24 hours of receiving an order. However due to Hurricane Milton in Florida, the freight companies closed for 3 days, and we could not ship? Surely this is something out of our control? How do we address that with amazon, and surely they have to understand?

Any advice from other FBM sellers will be appreciated.

You have to create a case with seller support and have evidence of the delay. They say they will consider weather related delays, but who knows.

If you are in an area where weather is expected to have an impact, you should really put your store on vacation before the storm hits. This way you don't have to worry about shipping orders when you don't have power or internet, or when no shipping services are available; or heaven forbid, you face serious loss due to the storm.

But at least in this case, Amazon is being forgiving for weather induced delays; there is a list of the zip codes in the message that was posted a couple of days ago, but I can't find it now.

If you are still having issues, then consider going into vacation mode until things improve.

Hey @Seller_FilNADsBPcAxy,

Checking in now that some time has passed. We posted some things to consider with the hurricane's impact to FBM sellers, linked here. Are there any lasting repercussions from the hurricane that you're seeing? Let me know if so, and I'll be happy to do what I can to support.
