Amazon collects taxes on sales but when an a to z claim is involved they refund the buyer the taxes out of my own pocket
I just received an a to z claim from a buyer that claimed she never received her order when it shows successfully delivered by Canada Post.
Amazon decides to grant the claim and refunds the buyer as there was no signature involved.
My concern is that Amazon refunded the original item, shipping and original taxes from my pay to the buyer.
Why would Amazon credit the taxes out of my own pay when Amazon collected these taxes from the original sale transaction?

Amazon refunds according to source.
If you are not registered for GST/HST with amazon, then the sales tax will be refunded from the tax money amazon collected from the buyer. If you are registered, amazon will refund the sales tax from the tax money that amazon passed along to you.
You can look at your sales transactions report details to see the money flow.
