How Does Tracking Work FBM
So I Plan on drop shipping which means the tracking number that the supplier would use would be different than what amazon provides so how would the customer be able to track the package?

STOP! Please go to Amazon's Seller University and spend some researching. Drop shipping is not an accepted plan any longer.

Unless doing everything exactly right, drop shipping is not allowed and is the quickest way to get your account banned. To drop ship on Amazon, you have to be the seller of record, and your packaging and any packing lists can not mention any other retailers such as Home Depot or Walmart, etc. Most people who try to drop ship here screw it up, usually because they have no idea how to do it properly, and get their account banned. You need to study Seller University very carefully before even thinking about doing any drop shipping.
To answer your question, though, if you were to be doing everything correctly, you would use "Confirm Shipment" and enter in the tracking number in a timely manner on the order as opposed to purchasing a shipping label from Amazon.

STOP NOW! Drop shipping is no longer a business model that works on Amazon.
You get ONE chance to have an Amazon seller account. Do not waste this incredibly important opportunity by trying to dropship.
