Amazon collecting GST/HST and not refunding it to seller

Hi Everyone,

I am selling my products through FBA Canada starting this year. I am located in Ontario. As part of the payments, I am not receiving any HST that is paid by the customer for purchasing my product and it goes to Amazon directly. Will Amazon directly file HST for all the purchases on my company's behalf to the Canada Revenue Authority since I haven't received any HST amount from the customer through Amazon? I appreciate your input here. One more thing, I am yet to get my GST/HST number from CRA.

Once you do, you will get the GST / HST from Amazon to remit yourself. Amazon doesn't remit on your behalf if you have not entered a GST/HST number.

You mean to say that I need to get HST number from CRA first. Then I need to update the Amazon seller portal with the number that I received from CRA. Once after that, Amazon will credit the HST amount of all my previous purchases to my bank account. This is my understanding. Correct if I am wrong
