Changing Listings In Bulk Via Download>Edit>Upload

Hi all,

I personally built our entire Amazon catalog using Amazon provided templates back in 2014. Now I need to update all of our pricing as well as make a change to our bullet points. The current process for making changes in bulk seems to not be as straightforward as it was 10 years ago. I have read through Amazon Help files as well as through several Amazon Seller discussions and have found no concrete path forward. Below is what I would like to do...

Export my entire Amazon catalog into a file > Edit that file > Import that file

Of course the process would be a bit more complicated than that, but in a nutshell, that is the pattern. When initially building the store I was able to make incremental changes/corrections by using a heavily edited version of the initial store import files along with the "PartialUpdate" command.

I can find a way to export my catalog, but that export does not include the bullet points.

I can find a way to have Amazon create an example "template" but it does not indicate that there is a "PartialUpdate" function any longer.

If I limit my goal to only updating price I can generate a price only template that instructs me to export it into a tab-delineated text file for processing - but I want to also edit the bullet points.

It has been extremely difficult and frustrating for me to try to implement a change as the help files are difficult to navigate and the little I have been able to accomplish simply adds to the apparent complexity and confusion.

Is there no longer a simple way to export a catalog, edit it, and import the changes?

Go to "Inventory Reports". In the dropdown for "Select Report Type", see if your have "Category Listings Report". If you don't, open up a case with Seller Support and ask for access to it.

That report is an excel file with all the fields for your products. Make changes, and upload it back.

Hello @Seller_N2YCyTNQO6bVo,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you need to make changes to your items, including the bullet points. If you download your category specific template, it will allow you to specify if you want to 'Update, PartialUpdate or Delete' your item. You can find the templates here and if you run into issues, create a case with Seller Support including your Batch ID so they can take a look.

I hope this is helpful!

Michelle
