Trying to get ungated as a new seller

Hello Folks,

Does anyone have any experience in getting ungated as a new seller?

Has anyone ever been ungated as a brand new seller i.e. someone without any sales whatsoever?

I now have a thousands of dollars of inventory as every supplier has MOQs sitting around but Amazon simply rejects my applications without providing details on what is lacking.

I truly believe Amazon is doing sellers a disservice by not informing new sellers of what is required. It would help new sellers if Amazon's requirements for getting ungated would be clearer even if that means aging etc. But I haven't found anything anywhere in seller university that outlines the requirements.

Whatever requirements are listed while in the application, I have 100% completed. In fact, my supplier is also registered with Amazon.

Can anyone provide any insight?

You have a few things working against you this month.

1. Amazon slows down of approving new brands in Nov and Dec. Nothing against you, it is that they do not want their buyers to be exposed to problems that may arise. happens every year.

2. Yes, it Amazon is accepting new sellers in a category.

3. Selling a product in your own brand is a 3 step process. First you must have your brand approved. Second, you must be approved to sell in the specific category. And third, you must have the actual product approved to sell. And to complicate things more, each is handled by a different Team.
